The spring festival of Ottawa's tourism marks the end of winter, as the tulip - sent by Queen Juliana from the Netherlands - is grateful to the city's guests since World War II and is thriving throughout Ottawa.
The canals and the Forum of Plenipotentiaries in particular are the scene of public celebrations. Millions of tulips bloom in the national area with lavender attractions spread over the scenic "Tulip Path". Fireworks and performances are also attractions. The area where the festival is held annually has become one of Ottawa's top attractions
